Victory Lap Alumni Spotlight: Norman Edwards

My name is Norman Edwards I’m a VL graduate from cohort 4 and here’s my Victory Lap Story…

Prior to joining Victory Lap, I was working in the hospitality industry as a bartender and event manager. One of the most impactful decisions I have made in my life was joining Victory Lap program because it helped me realize my true potential: a career in sales. I had been at a crossroads in my life, trying to figure out how to utilize my marketing degree to its fullest potential. I then discovered this program and was intrigued to take the leap.

Fast forward to early 2021, I was promoted from a BDR to Account Manager at Upwork, where I still use the principles that I’ve learned from the program in my day-to-day. During my tenure as a BDR, I was ranked top 5 in the zone with various accomplishments which include: Hustle program mentor, teamwork award, quota club 7 times, BME as a BDR in company history, MVP award, top meetings award and participated in three Upwork Belonging Groups (UBGs).

Victory Lap has truly been the catalyst for my personal and professional growth over the past few years. I continue to pay it forward through mentorship, showing up everyday to work with a great attitude, and doing my best to inspire people around me with principles that I’ve learned since I’ve graduated the program.
